Need to figure out the whole “independently wealthy” thing …
This has been a great trip so far, and the concert on Sunday is going to be fabulous! I love this music-making stuff, and wish I could do much, much more of it. However, regular employment and a regular paycheck are sort of necessary … unless I can discover a quick and easy way to become independently wealthy! Probably not going to happen, though 🙂
I’m doing half days of work while I’m here, as much as possible, to cut down somewhat on both the number of vacation days needed for the trip as well as the mountains of work that would otherwise be awaiting me upon my return home. I’m also enjoying rehearsals, relaxation, reading, and the general pleasure of wandering around a vibrant university campus and its surroundings.
Today, I had a couple of hours on the Casavant organ at the church where Haley’s concert will be, plus a couple of hours rehearsing with her. Tomorrow, I’ll be accompanying at her voice lesson as well as at the dress rehearsal in the evening. After that, I’m free (except for that pesky half-day of work on Friday!) until a group rehearsal Saturday for the Bernstein “Make Our Garden Grow” and dinner with Haley, her boyfriend, Daniel, and close friend, Melanie. Then it’s the concert at 5pm Sunday and the drive home on Monday!
